Saturday afternoon we headed to Chicago while Notre Dame was playing Michigan in down-pouring rain. We arrived at our Hotel without any glitches. We ate dinner at Hooters since that was within walking distance and it was raining. Back in our room which wasn’t top quality but spacious, we nestled under the covers hoping to get a good nights sleep. Our hall was mostly filled with Soccer girls, which were not ready to sleep. They had enough adults along that we thought would keep them under control. 12:45 am was the last time we asked them to please, be quiet. It was like talking in the wind. They were running up and down the halls and yelling to each other. We headed to the airport at 5:00 AM, checked in without glitches and had some breakfast. After we were on the plane, we waited almost 30 minutes for the food service to come with the food that we had to pay for if we wanted to eat or drink on our 3 hour flight. You can’t even get free water on US Airways.
We flew to Phoenix and our plane went right over Melissa’s place. Our flight from AZ to Calgary was on a much smaller plane and the seats as Norm described it were as if we were on a hay wagon. After 3 hours we were glad to relieve our bums. In spite of being worn out we were soon in awe of scenery. We stopped to get groceries and head to our condo. We enjoyed dinner at Patrinos then went home to bed.
